ABOUT US

On behalf of the BECA trustee and the executive, I am delighted to welcome you to the BARAKAH EDUCATIONAL & CULTURAL ASSOCIATION (BECA) website.

BECA is a registered charity set up in 2010 to provide cultural and educational services for the benefit of Muslim communities in London from a number of West African countries residing in the Southwark community area of ​​the Borough.

Our key aim at this website is to advance the benefit of the Islamic faith in the public, especially through holding prayer meetings, lectures, celebrations of religious festivals and distributing literature on the Islamic faith enlightening others about the Islamic Faith within our community and the world at large.

We further aim to advance education and provide facilities for the social welfare of the leisure-time occupation with the purpose of improving the conditions of life for all people. Providing a hospitable and flexible area, where all Muslims can learn how to worship and provide a community facility for all in a peaceful, vibrant and harmonious community.

Announcement

 The BECA management is pleased to inform our Jamaat that we are collecting the ZAKATUL FITR on behalf of the congregation as usual. Funds collected would be distributed on time in sha Allah.

ZAKATUL FITR IS CALCULATED AT £5 PER HEAD.

 Payment can be done in the following method;

AQEEQAH (NAMING CEREMONY)

In Islam, the baby is named within the seventh day by the mother and father who make a decision together on what the child should be called. They choose an appropriate name, usually Islamic and with a positive meaning.

EDUCATION

A child must be guided towards what is right. This includes the teaching of beliefs and actions of religion, good manners, moral and social values. The child should be taught about healthy ways of living a useful life in terms of helping and serving others.

NIKKAH (WEDDING CEREMONY)

In Islam, marriage is between a man and women and is a legal contract between both parties, known Arabic as nikkah. The nikkah is one of a very important ceremony as part of the several steps of a marriage arrangement in the Islamic tradition.
